They can be triggered by an event eg being locked up inadvertently in a room at work, or stuck in a lift. They can happen for no apparent reason too. They can be frightening, but physically harmless.People think they are suffocating, or about to have a heart attack, and the need to remove one self from the present immediate cirumstances they find themselves in. The attacks vary in intensity, may last for an hour, and go away with out medical intervention. They can be socialy disabling however as one cannot predict always when they are going to happen. There is a variation in the character of a panic attack,we are all unique. You are unique. Abour 5% of the population will suffer from panic attacks. The first step if one thinks that they are suffering from panic attacks is to seek advice form a licensed medical practitioner, so as to reach a diagnosis of your condition,as there may be a coexisting condition that needs attention after which the panic attacks are ameliorated or even cured. The practitioner, your GP usually in the UK, will have at his disposal councilling/therapy as well as pharmaceutical treatments such as,beta blockers(if your not asthmatic), antidepressants, anxiolytics and may even utilise other complimentary treatments eg bach lower remedies. You may wish to look into methods of controlling panic attacks/anxiety developed by people who have suffered from this predicament. Talking to others who have the same problem can help.
http://drshabbirahmed.com/panicattack

panic attacks

see post previously
im writing a new ebook on panic attacks but in the meanwhile check out:
http://www.drshabbirahmed.com/panicattacks/

swineflu aguide

Human illnesses fall into a myriad form of categories and types, in accordance with their causative and risk factors, signs, symptoms and treatment modalities. Influenza or most commonly known as the 'flu' is one of the most commonly occurring health disorders and perhaps the reason that accounts for maximum physician visits in a year.
UNDERSTANDING INFLUENZA
Influenza, or the common 'flu' is basically an illness that is caused by the RNA viruses, which infect the respiratory tract of animals, birds and human beings. An episode of influenza is usually marked by an amalgamation of symptoms, primarily including fever, cough, headache and excessive fatigue. In addition, in some cases, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea might also occur. These symptoms usually last for up to two weeks or less and the patient recovers with no problems.
TYPES OF VIRUSES
A virus is basically a microscopic organism that consists of the genetic material (RNA or DNA) and is surrounded by a protein, lipid or glycoprotein coat.
Viruses are unique organisms, owing to the fact that they can only reproduce within a host cell. Once the virus has contacted a host cell, it will insert genetic material into the host and practically take over its functions. The infected cell continues to reproduce, but it is now reproducing more viral protein and genetic material, instead of the original products. It is this process by which a virus succeeds in marking the onset of a disorder.
The influenza viruses are essentially divided into three categories, including the A, B, and C. The influenza type A and B have a greater impact and carry the potential of effecting public health. On the other hand, the influenza type C normally manifests itself in the form of a very mild respiratory illness or at times, even no symptoms at all. Hence, the entire drive to manage the onslaught of influenza is aimed at controlling the impact of virus types A and B.
I) INFLUENZA TYPE A
The influenza type A viruses have the potential to infect people, birds, pigs, horses and other animals. However, the natural carriers for the influenza type A viruses are wild birds. Scientifically, only influenza A viruses can infect birds and all the known subtypes of the influenza A viruses have the potential to infect birds.
The type A viruses are further divided into different types, basis their difference in two of the viral surface proteins, known as the hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N). Basically, there are 16 known subtypes of the 'H' category and 9 of the known 'N' subtypes. When the droplets of this virus become air-borne or are spread by direct contact, the immune system of the host fails to kill the virus at times. In this case, the virus replicates in the respiratory tract and eventually damages the host cells.
At present, only some of the influenza A subtypes are in circulation amongst the human population. These include the subtypes:
• H1N1
• H1N2
• H3N2
Apart from the above, the other subtypes of Influenza A virus are mostly found in the animal species. For instance, the subtypes H7N7 and H3N8 are known to infect horses, while the subtype H3N8 are known to cause illness in dogs.
At present, there are three prominent subtypes of the avian influenza A viruses that are known to affect both, birds as well as people. These include:
a) Influenza A H5 – With nine potential subtypes of H5 known, a few illnesses caused by this virus are currently circulating in Asia and Europe, such as the HPAI H5N1.
b) Influenza A H7 – With nine potential subtypes known, the H7 infection is quite rare in humans. However, when it does occur, the infection presents itself with symptoms such as conductivities or upper respiratory complications. A few major subtypes in circulation include H7N2, H7N7 and H7N3, causing mild to severe illnesses in humans, at times even turning fatal.
c) Influenza A H9 – Mostly known to exist only in a low pathogenic form, the influenza A H9 has rarely ever infected humans in the past.
II) INFLUENZA TYPE B
The influenza type B viruses are mostly found in humans but are not classified into any subtypes like the influenza A viruses. However, when contracted, influenza B viruses can often cause severe illness and even death in humans. Though the influenza B viruses have known to be a cause of influenza epidemics in humans, yet they have not been the cause of pandemics until date.
III) INFLUENZA TYPE C
The influenza type C viruses are known to be a cause of only mild illnesses in humans and have not been the cause of any epidemics or pandemics until date.
more on
http://www.swinefluguide.drshabbirahmed.com
check out also for more ebooks: www.ebooksforyouonline.com

panic attacks.

more and more people suffer from these.
